I loved the idea of an inward-facing performance almost as if the band are rehearsing after the bar they work in has closed for the night. We wanted to make this feel intimate and private, sigle source, peppering the edit with brief, playful visual representations of parts of the lyrics. We shot lots of the instrument coverage so that it could be rhythmically slotted into the edit matching the pace and shape of the music with quick camera moves and zooms. Shooting on tungsten balanced stock and lighting with warm tungsten sources meant the occasional seeping daylight in shot had a nice blue bias to it that made our band area warm and vibrant.
